Alumni and the California public at large were really negative. A lot of people felt that this new logo was too modern, too cheap,. And really denigrated the gravitas of the university. Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom sent an angry letter on December 11th to the UC president. But again, it's a classic case of the misinformation reaching the very, very top.
