serverless is a way of running an application without the need for servers. It works by creating one connection and then sending all requests over it. But if you have 40 50 different things going on at once, there's not enough bandwidth to do everything. The problem with this approach is that your database can only handle so much traffic in any given time. Planet scale will allow you to use their system as long as you show they're doing connection pooling for you. They are sort of like handling that sauce under the thing which I think is a really neat way to approach it.
In this episode of Syntax, Wes and Scott talk about your options for database when you’re working with serverless.
