Is There a Jump Backwards in Time to See the Birth of Christ?

There's a conscious, obvious anomaly in chapter 12 where it looks like we jump backwards in time to see the birth of chris. If i understand rob correctly, what he's proposing is that really, all that material up to chapter 12 is a prior universe, and then jesus gets born. I don't think that's a logical way to interpret the text, or at least not a plausible way tointerpret the text. Don't think it fits some of the details,.
