The Power of Story Telling
Oral tradition is simply story telling. The ancient israelites would repeat the stories of their history over and over again in order to ensure that their mysterious relationship to adena would only go on. Story telling was also used to encourage and sustain each other through all the challenges they would endure. It helped them to feel connected to their past and kept before their awareness the continuous thread of god's demonstrated faithfulness to them. And its power lies its ability to strike at the heart and excite the imagination of others.
