Eye Tracking
Our eyes work differently in the peri-person on the extra-personal space. When we're looking at something close, we have smooth tracking. You can't do that in the distance. It's just one of those quirks of our design. Or is it something more mechanical with the ocularness of question? I think that possibly it's not worth smooth tracking things that are far off in the distance because it doesn't give you enough information.
