The editor of Private Eye is the candidate for the Dog Lovers Party. Thorpe's majority of 7,000 is completely overturned and Tory candidate wins by 8,500 votes. Five years ago, he was within touching distance of number 10. Now he's not even an MP. The prosecution has applied for reporting restrictions at the trial to be lifted. He could be facing 15 years in prison at the end of it.
