Feminist Film Review - The Homemades
i think it's a really fascinating film. It's so important in taking a look at the difficulties faced by women in the west. I can't imagine growing up in that era and the expectations of their role as a wife and a mother. In trying to drive the misery home, it sort of turned into a bit of ike performative fo feminist torture porn which i don't love. And i also felt like it fell back on gendertropes by making it essentially really all about the homesmen. But ultimately, this is a bit of a spoiler, she kind of crumbles under the weight of having to be that self sufficient. It just about human.
