The History of Fireworks in China
The most common form of fireworks you see in big festival displays today is the mortar or the shell model. The shells are packed with these little pellets known as stars that include different types of chemicals, often metal salts that wind burned create different colors. And they're actually artisans who will make special fireworks like custom packing of the stars inside to give you the color you want and the shape of the explosion you want.
