Is There a Skin in the Game?

Those who get off on this idea of siding with something that's going to upend the decadent usual, boy, talk about an absence of skin in the game. It's kind of like the people in Lovecraft's stories who summon the horrible thing and then get eaten first and then they wonder why. And I just really feel strongly that we need to be humiliated by the question of experience and that experience should leaven our certainties.
