The Causal Relationship Between Open Source and Maintainer Burnout

Maintainers stress and burnout actually comes from relative to where the popular narrative of where it comes from are like two totally different things. It's not so much that people are you know burning out because they spent so much time on the code and that they're like oh I've been so but so many hours into this code and now I'm feeling burned out and wish that I'd spent more time going on a walk or something like that. The negative interactions even if they're like you know the ratio of negative to positive interactions is like one to a hundred. The negative ones just just really hurt and like and it's not even just like being jerks to you online in some cases
