The Evolution of Fertility

Christianity grew through essentially a demographic advantage. And then also Christians were highly effective at establishing basically street mobs who could win political contests of basically smashing each other's temples and etc, etc. There have been all kinds of volatility and reproductive strategies over the course of human history. One of the things we need to unlearn as we think about fertility is this idea that it used to be high pre-modern fertility.
