Is the Critical Path to Developer Relations Working?

How do you know, even if you're on the right path? I mean, very often I look for tutorials and I'm like, none of this is what would help me to get started. And then the next question would be, like, how do you know this thing? How do you know what the critical path is? Do you have some sort of group of user developers around you that give you feedback?
