The History of the Vandals

The Vandals crossed the short stretch of seas separating Africa from Hispania, almost completely unopposed. They established a kingdom centered on Carthage and entered the empire on New Year's Eve of the year 405. The Vandals originally came from Scandinavia, settled in what's today, modern Poland between the Odor and the Vistilla rivers; then made their way south into the province of Dacia in the second century AD. But only the last part of this is even close to solidly established.
