The Paradox of Kolkata

I always wanted to get back. I was on a two-year fellowship at Cambridge and the fellowship came to an end. My daughter was born at around the same time. The other reason was, at that point of time, I was a bit alienated by England. It's a place of the strangely beautiful decay of the modern city. That has been largely killed off with the destruction of the middle class in Kolkata.
