The Role of Oral Hygiene in ICU Nursing

Oral hygiene is an intrinsic part of integer care nursing. At least in the context of the trial, there did not appear to be any problems with adherence. The only issue that we sometimes face is that in patients when they get extubated, de-tubated, it's sometimes hard for them to have the oral pace,. They don't really like it. But we do get high decolonization rates in the surveillance cultures that we do as a standard. So every single patient gets cultured twice a week, and it's just like you prescribe paracetamol or whatever your kind of stock treatment is.
