Kant was interested in what it is to be enlightened, for examplean. He thought it was something to do with owning your own life. But he knew that if you just immediately say, i've got it, i'm oarning my own life, off i go, that that is not going to lead to happy outcomes. And the time of european revolutions and and realize that crowds too can be stirred up with a sense of their own self-righteousness.
