A Young Man's Story of Kindness

Colonel James Anderson opened his library of 400 volumes to boys so that any young man could take out each Saturday afternoon, a book which could be exchanged for another on the succeeding Saturday. This is an example of how Andrew wasted no opportunities to learn new skills. If he was never introduced to Thomas Scott, he would have never worked for Pennsylvania Railroad or learned Morse code.
