The Relationship Between Harriet and La Wiese

I've had a lot of people say, and not just Harriet, but Jonathan as well is another one. People just found them so enjoyable to read about that could really connect with them. And I think it was great fun writing the minor characters in a way that he wasn't with the main characters. So yeah, we can all agree that we despised Terrence. The relationship with Primrose's dad, and it really develops towards the end when he is attacked and it's a racist attack. What was going into your thinking about writing that and what was the message that you were wanting to put out there?
