The Road to Mental Preparation Is Not a Category
With defense personnel first responders trauma is kind of built into the job. So people go into those jobs expecting it. Is there any, any way then that we can actually prevent trauma? I don't think you can prevent the trauma per se, but I think what you can do is to educate them around the notion that mental health is not a category. It's not a categorical distinction either have it or I don't and to recognize the symptoms along with continuum.
