Is He More Earnest Than That?
He was earnest in his mission, as he saw it, to encourage people to understand the importance art in every aspect of life. But i think he understood instinctively, or found that it chimed with his own nature, that that humour was an important part of fixing that message. He really learnt from the writings of john ruskin. And and wild thought this was an amazing, beautiful idea and needed to be to be spread and reinforced. I'm one of the very engaging things about him is his buoyancy of his spirit, and is his optimism and his energy.
