What Is Science?

When i was five, if could write up my first scientific experiment in scientific language, it would be called on the effects of total immersion on small garden invertebrates. It's basically just curiosity about the world. And you tend to find the real scientists, the really scientist, are usually passionate about other things as well as science. You know this because you've interviewed lots of people. But back in the days of newton, and 200 years ago, there wasn't such a word as science. So bigger picture here. Can you define for people what is science? Science is basically the organized manifestation of common sense.
