The Importance of Tie Up Later Lists
Stimulus must be external, that is, action or dialogue. Response usually must follow stimulus at once. When response to stimulus is not logical on the surface, you must ordinarily explain it. If a writer mentions that Rob is sneezing all the time, those sneezes should be explained by the end of the book. Readers are looking for clues and they're aware that the writer is going to leave clues. That's why I keep an earlier list called Chekhov's Gun.
