Your Father Knows What You Need Before You Ask Not

The words carry multiple layers of meaning. Jesus doesn't mean that it's not talking about physical bread, he does mean that. He is telling us to pray for what we actually physically need. That's why shalom is a word that means being whole. And so when I ask myself, Lord, give me today what is necessary. I kind of like that, the daily bread. Obviously this prayer, he didn't mean for us to just practice this in rote repetition but he's teaching us the simplicity.
