Wexler's Country Soul Trilogy
Rick hall was the first southern soul artist to reach number one on the pop charts. Wexler had a bit of a culture shock when working at fame, as it was totally unlike anything he h'd experienced before. To modern ears, pickett's records are almost the definition of soul music, but at the time they were absolutely considered cross over records. In wexer's eyes, fame was now the new stack.
