The Importance of 1917 in the Story of the Russian Revolution

In 1917, the Bolshevik revolution in Russia overthrows the Russian monarchy and sets up a socialist government. When V.I. Lenin re-established the Communist International, the Third International, he really insists that the international communist movement really had to tackle the question of colonialism. And so I've read so many reports from U.S. intelligence officials trying to connect imperial Japan and international communism with anti-colonial movements around the world. The irony was that the Japanese Empire could not have been more anti-radical; you can see similar policies in Japan.
