How Did the Fed Tighten in 2017?

The low ball period is for interest rates. It's about what the central banks are doing at the short end and how active is policy at the shortend. And then how active is now things like quantitative easing and that impacts the long end of interest rates. The other thing that is a big factor for rates is the outlook for inflation and the outlook for the economy and implicitly they're connected. So from incredibly low to incredibly high back to incredibly low and then back to very high in 2022.
