I think there's a balance to be struck where you can do realistic things but still make the mechanics fun. So if you're finding a game boring because of its realism, I think that's because the mechanic isn't quite right. The sales of the games have spiked by more than 200% since the show came out. But then also the content is now pulling the game sales up as well. It's also like book and movies, right?
