The Importance of Self Purification

An aspirant of freedom has to reconcile his or her sexuality with the yearning for freedom. It is a mistake to think that the aspirant can arouse his or own Kundalini during ritual sex. Each partner does it for the other, just as it is rare to be in the presence of a selfless teacher. Without the partner's selfless devotion to purify oneself before surrendering to the other, the aspirant could drag his partner into bondage from the powerful impressions transferred during the ritual. Hence the need for the aspirant to undertake rigorous self purification to protect the partner.
