The Philosophy of Liberalism

LZ Granderson: What I really liked about your book is that it goes to basics. It explains, which for me was very important because I have to admit almost complete absence of philosophical training. And yet, maybe in part because these were things I was reflecting on that weren't immediately connected to political events. LZ: Sure, well, I think there's a way of really elucating this that should be fairly obvious to most of your listeners. But then our country that we love, that we admire, that we think is the exceptional country of the world now and maybe in all time, is a country based on liberalism. We're an expression of that philosophy.
