George Washington's Pistol
George Washington kept at least one of the pistols that he reportedly received from Braddock. He continued to carry it with him during the Revolutionary War 20 years later. The pistol did not end up remaining in the Mount Vernon collection with Washington's personal possessions. Somehow it was passed on to someone else or sold off, and eventually got into the Smithsonian collection.
