The Cultural Contradictions of Capitalism
In the late 1970s Harvard sociologist Daniel Bell wrote that capitalism in this kind of Keynesian economy is it forces upon the worker a cultural contradiction. Capitalism always has to find a way to balance this contradiction somewhere and what I want to actually do theologically trip is how we release these institutions onto our selves so they can become really creative. We are broken people in need of God's redeeming work or being finite beings who will die against a yearning for something more than their own lives. The Poetics but poetic has to come out of our real experiences of living Christ, says David Frum.
