The Unreliable Narrator and the Dishonest Prosecutor

There are two types of people confuse unreliable narrators with dishonest protagonists. The characters intent to deceive so verbal Kent in the usual suspects is a dishonest protagonist he's not an unreliable narrator and knows he's lying but doesn't know what his reality is. Joaquin Phoenix's Joker is an unreliable character because the whole story is him in Arkham Asylum talking to a nurse and he's out of his mind and he doesn't realize he's lying to the characters in the audience. Ed Norton in fight club is an unreliable Narrator, we're told very clearly he's fucking crazy and his perspective is so fragmented that it cannot be trusted which is fresh and subversive to know right from the start this guy
