Your first book was a Los Angeles Times bestseller. It's so hard to get a book published, you know what I'm saying? You've got to finish the manuscript and find an agent; that's not easy. Then you have to deal with the thing coming out and the culture not caring in the way that it used to or not feeling like it cares at all.
