Is the Lightning Always at the Highest Point?

It's been a dry summer. We had some thunderstorms this week. And man, we had a quick one yesterday and I think lightning actually struck like close to where we were in town. You could hear it echoing nowhere of a lie for about 30 seconds. Because obviously London is fairly flat. There's not a big hill for it to get lost in. So it just kind of rebounds off and you can hear it coming back from miles around. It was like, holy shit. The experience with any of this stuff is watching rescue 911 with William Chatter as the host. Never heard of that.
