The Importance of Prayer in Islam
Prayer is one of the so-called five pillars of Islam. Even if you don't pray, let's say you pray three times a day instead of five, those other two will mean that you have additional sins. So there is a kind of punitive aspect to the incentive structure in Islam. But within the Protestant side of the faith, it is much more a sense of personal need and practice.
