There's this sort of individualist, collectivist, heaven and enlightenment. You can think of it like a two by two. Some people want to create inner peace and some people want to creating outer peace. An interesting thing that an organization called leverage research believes about the brain is connection theory. They believe your belief system always has to be oriented in such a way that you believe that you can achieve that ultimate goal.
