We just don't find anything like it really we find little bits and bobs here and there. Cassius Dio for example talking about the eruption happening he says it happens in late autumn so again that's another indication of the timing. The rest of the story is very much taught to us by what's on the ground and what's continuing to come out of the ground. We might have had a whole load more if Caster did with that information and how he incorporated it into his own storytelling but we just don'tfind anything like itreally.
