I looked something up about floating cities while we were talking about them because I was wondering why I couldn't think of any there's not a ton of them in the history of science fiction it turns out Jules Verne had won. Floating cities are associated with impoverished or marginalized peoples across the world and science fiction especially historically was kind of about the winners at the center of the world.
