The Dissipation of Bernie Sanders' Support in 2016
In 2016, it was clear that he over-performed and caucus states even in relation to Hillary Clinton. That's in part because of his very activated organization, which had sprung into a nationwide apparatus. But that organizational prowess wasn't maximized in its utility in states that didn't hold caucuses, which are like organizational party affairs. So, I mean, it should have been clear, but again, one of these sort of bizarre ironies is that Bernie activists who were brought into the fall by the DNC having internal dissension and acrimony.
