The Story of Freight Train Riders

There was an entire subculture built around freight train riding. A hierarchy of guys who rode the trains called profess they were professional hoboes. They could get from coast to coast without a ticket in three days with no luggage, and not go hungry because they knew how the trains worked. So that's a bit of hobo history. I think you're a runner. I'm a runner. There are people who run 50 marathons a year. That level of passion was this hierarchy of guys Who Ride The Train. And there were folks who found their home there. Butth work was to sport the passion. You would contribute food, if you had it, you would get fed.
