Sally Kohn: When we first met, you had limited amygdala activation in your brain. She says it's the fast, visceral response to detect and prevent whatever might be a threat. Now she has trained her brain not to respond as quickly or intensely when faced with an actual threat. Skelton: I think actually what I've done is train my brain to detect threats more acutely.
