Orcas Make Biphonic Calls to Keep in Touch
The calls of pods can evolve over time with these really subtle changes. We had a pod called the AK pod that swam together in the early 90s. Orcas share calls from generation to generation through the mothers and grandmothers. In this way, they create a family culture just like humans do. They pass on knowledge, voices, sounds down through the generations.
