Expecting better was a big shift in that i did some of that kind of writing before. It is is partly driven, largely driven by feeling economics has a lot to say about decision making and how you run your life. In the past decade economists have more frequently tried to engage with a broader audience. But when i first did this, there was an enormous amount of scepticism,. An enormous amount of like, i can't believe you're doing this. This is so weird. Like, thats not what wey hired you to do.
