The Benefits of Amazon Web Services
When Netflix owned their own servers, they'd have to buy the amount of servers to cater for the peak. But when they switched to Amazon Web Services, it gave them benefits. A big one is elasticity. On AWS, they can kind of cater for those big peaks because they're obviously going to borrow from somebody else at the time who isn't using as much. There's also the scalability. If one building, one data center caught on fire, there goes 300 movies. So probably not quite that simple, but there's some massive benefits of using AWS.
