Risks of Bleeding and Thrombosis in ECMO
There are going to be a whole host of risks that are also associated with the fact that like any vascular access device, there could be vascular injury at the time of cannulation. And I think bleeding is really the main risk that clinicians think about in the tradeoff of what the benefits could be with VV ECMO versus the downsides. Thrombosis is less of a concern. So, like, we thrombosis of the circuit itself or the membrane, and that can lead to dysfunction which has its own full-stuff problems. But again, bleeding, you know, is the major risk that we think about when we're thinking about BVF.
