At the age of four, my father whittled me a detective badge out of our front door. But pop-pop God bless him didn't stack around for too long or stick around. His uniquely high voice, coupled with his insistence on wearing a cape all the time, meant he never really fitted in with the locals. One day it all became too much. I never saw him again. Frankly, his voice was so grating that it was probably for the best. He did, however, leave a cryptic note for me: "My dear little problems,. I'm afraid it's time for me to leave you"
