How to Distinguish Violence From the Moment of Violence in a Novel

The trilankin civil war is a constant reference point for all the characters in your novel but it's now over at the time the story of a passage north takes place. It was my intention very much to distance the characters from the moment of the period of violence and i did touch on this before when i said that i myself personally as a right did not want to continue to confront this material day in and day out. I wanted to think about what it meant to live with the experience of such violence in the day-to-day waking up sleeping eating communicating with others walking working.
