Peter Thiel is on the board of Facebook. He says he would still defend Silicon Valley companies partially in the sense that there still are more views that can be broadcast on the internet than you get in the New York Times or the Washington Post. But I think it's certainly not as libertarian as people thought it was going to be in the late 90s. Twitter was more helpful to the Republicans in 2016 than to the Democrats.
