The Book of Mormon Amplifies the Supernatural Nature of Revelation
In the early 18 hundreds, another influential movement was taking place in the united states called transcendentalism. They also had an interest in breaking down the exclusive authority of the bible. The book of mormon is quite different from that and we can see it as appealing to maybe something of the same impulse, but in a radically different way.
