Movies are defined in the last 20 years by the rise of the superhero film as like the linchpin box office success. Green book and moonlight don't have a ton in common, but they are both movies that at the end you might feel a sense of emotional lift based on the possibilities of the future. The exact opposite of how I felt about succession. Movies used to be the place where you could explore much more complicated themes. TV was the place of comfort.
